My lived experiences and skills gained aren’t something easily contained in a single article.

For now, let me summarise what’s in my head as of recent. The rules: one line, two accompanying sentences max. Start with 10.

Nothing matters, so everything matters.

What does life mean to you? Our short lived existence only really affects ourselves and those around us, so decide what is important and what is not.

We live the way we do because it’s the most convenient.

We grow up shaped by family, friends, and society. Oftentimes we accept things, whether appropriate or not, because the reasons for it are “what usually makes sense”.

Challenge everything.

Think deeply. Or don’t think and observe.

You don’t need an opinion on everything.

You can hear what other people are saying without forming a judgement. Some things really just don’t matter.

Simple where possible.

Life is complicated. Let’s not unnecessarily make it more so.

Just shut up for a minute.

It’s easy to fight for what we believe in without restraint. Resist the urge, and give things time to sink in.

Count your chickens.

Monitor what you own and use it to guide future strategy.

Do everything you can to avoid all-nighters.

They are not worth it. Rather, focus on the systems that mean you can run healthy for years to come.

Learn how to learn.

Rather than running in circles. The differences in outcomes is worth the detour.

Fundamentals first, exploration second.

In pursuit of skill acquisition, follow the well travelled road. When you understand it, follow the roads you are pulled towards.

On looking back, I realise that many of these skills are not practical. What makes something practical? I need a clear answer for this.
